Is Apple Bank’s Online Banking system secure?
Our Apple Bank Online Banking System is secure. In fact, our Apple Bank Online Banking customers are required to use a browser with one of the highest forms of encryption available for today's popular browsers. This means that information passing from your computer to our server is scrambled, making it virtually impossible for anyone to access your account information. Our Apple Bank online banking system uses 'Multifactor Authentication', which protects against phishing, pharming and dictionary attacks, as well as keystroke logging viruses. This system protects against online fraud by providing an additional end user authentication 'factor' beyond the customer number and password logons. Multifactor Authentication works by recognizing the computer terminal that you used to sign up for Online Banking. If you use another computer to logon to online banking, our system will recognize this and ask you to answer a series of security questions that you had set up when initially signing up for Apple Bank Online Banking.

I can't get into my Online Banking. What is the problem?

If you are unable to login to your Online Banking service, please review the instructions under the Trouble Logging In? link on the Apple Bank Web site home page at www.applebank.com.  You may also call CustomerLine for assistance.

Common reasons why you might have trouble logging in include:

  • Incorrect User ID or Password. Double check to be sure your User ID and Password are correct. You may also be using the wrong case for your Password or User ID. Both are case sensitive.
  • Pending Online Banking Registration.
  • Old Page Stuck in Cache. An older version of your login Web page may be stuck in a special folder called a cache. Step-by-step instructions on how to clear your cache in different browsers are available on our Web site as noted above.
  • Problem with Web Browser Version or Settings. Recommended Web browsers are listed on our Web site. If you are already using a recommended browser, you can try reinstalling the browser.
  • Problem with Modem. This service recommends using a modem speed of 28.8 or higher.  However, the speed at which you actually connect to the Internet may vary. In addition, performance results may vary when using cable modems due to differences in duplex technology offered by cable providers.
  • Interactive TV. Our Online Banking service does not currently support interactive TV because TV browsers may not conform to generally accepted Web standards, resulting in inconsistent online sessions.
  • Enabling Cookies. In order to provide optimal security, performance and reliability, this service requires that cookies be enabled on your Web browser. Cookies are a small piece of information that a Web server can store on your browser so the system recognizes your actions during a session. As noted above, our Web site provides instructions for enabling cookies based on your Web browser.

Other reasons why you are unable to login may be due to temporary ATM network, institution or Web server unavailability, or other system error. In most cases, an error message will be displayed, with instructions as available. In these cases, please try to login again at a later time.

Finally, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) that provides your access to the Internet may be experiencing an outage, peak usage, or other network problem. In most cases, when there is an ISP problem, the login page will not be displayed. In some cases, the page will be displayed and you can enter a User ID and Password and click the Log In button, but your session times out before the login can be completed.
