There are several ways to fund/make a deposit:

Online Transfer: Log in to your account online at applebank.com or on the Apple Bank Mobile App. You can transfer money from another bank account in your name or from your Apple Bank account. To add a new account from another institution, go to Transfer and select Add External Account.

Mobile check deposit: If you haven’t already, download the Apple Bank Mobile App on your phone and enroll in mobile check deposit. Then, you can deposit your checks by simply taking a picture. Make sure each check is properly endorsed with your signature and account number. Remember to write “For Mobile Deposit Only” on the back.

Apple Bank branch or ATM: Visit your nearest location to make your first deposit. Certain types of checks and money orders are not accepted at Apple Bank ATMs. For more information visit the FAQ: What checks can I deposit at an ATM?

Mail your check: Make sure each check is properly endorsed with your signature and account number. Do not mail cash. Be sure to seal the envelope and mail it to us at:

To activate your debit card, please call 800-658-4541. Follow the prompts and once you've received confirmation that your card has been activated, stay on the line as you will be prompted to set up your PIN. 

If this is a replacement card: 

• Your PIN remains the same.
• Your old card will be deactivated immediately upon activation of this card.
• Securely destroy your old card.

Sign your new card and begin using it immediately. Please keep your PIN confidential-never give it to anyone.

Deposited checks are subject to a funds availability schedule. Please request an “About Your Apple Bank Accounts” brochure from an Apple banker.

Checks payable to third parties are considered doubly endorsed, and require management approval. All doubly endorsed checks deposited at an ATM machine will be withdrawn from the account and returned to the account owner.

Log in to Online Banking to obtain front and back images of paid checks. Checks paid within the previous three months will be available in the online account history. If no check number is recorded in the history, it means the payee converted the check to an ACH and no image is available. Images of checks paid within one year of the request can be obtained through your online statements.

If you are unable to login to your Online Banking service, please refer to Online Banking Login Help for detailed instructions. It’s also helpful to review these common reasons why you might be having trouble logging in:

• Incorrect User ID or Password. Be sure you are entering your case-sensitive User ID and Password correctly.
• Pending Online Banking Registration. You can't access the system until your registration is finalized.
• Old Page Stuck in Cache. An older version of your login page may be stuck in a special folder called a cache. Clear your cache and try again or review our Browser Compatibility Guide.
• Problem with Web Browser Version or Settings. Make sure you are using the most updated browser version to view our site. If you're already doing that, try reinstalling the browser.
• Problem with Modem. This service recommends using a modem speed of 28.8 or higher. However, the speed at which you actually connect to the Internet may vary. Also, performance results may vary when using cable modems due to differences in duplex technology offered by cable providers.
• Interactive TV. Our Online Banking service does not currently support interactive TV because TV browsers may not conform to generally accepted web standards, resulting in inconsistent online sessions.
• Enabling Cookies. In order to provide optimal security, performance and reliability, this service requires that cookies be enabled on your browser. Cookies are a small piece of information that a web server can store on your browser so the system recognizes your actions during a session.

Other reasons why you are unable to log in may be due to temporary ATM network, institution or web server unavailability, or other system errors. In most cases, an error message will be displayed, with instructions as available. In these cases, please try to log in at a later time.

Finally, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) that provides your access may be experiencing an outage, peak usage, or other network problem.

You can view up to 2 years of statements for active accounts through online banking or in the Apple Bank Mobile App. Simply log in, select “Statements & Tax Forms,” then select the account you wish to view.

To request statements older than 2 years, please send us a message through online or mobile banking or call CustomerLine at 914-902-2775. Our TDD number is 800-824-0710.

Completed transfers are credited to the account as cash and are available immediately. Standard transfers take 3 business days to complete and are deposited into the recipient account on the third business day. A business day is any day other than a Saturday, Sunday or legal bank holiday. All transfer requests (i.e., to initiate a transfer of funds through ACH) made after 2:00 pm ET will be executed on the next business day.

A pending transaction may take up to 3 days to post to your account.

Your User ID needs to be 8-20 characters in length and may include letters, numbers or a combination of both. Do not use spaces or special characters.

Passwords are 8-32 characters in length. The Password must contain at least one letter, one number and one of these special characters: ~!`@#$%^&*()_-+={}[]|\:'<',>.?/ and space. Keep your Password confidential and in a safe place.

Apple Bank’s Free Online Bill Pay service is easy to use, convenient, time-saving and helps you better manage your cash flow. You control when you pay your bills. Make one-time payments or schedule recurring payments. Save postage and streamline your recordkeeping. In Online Banking, select the "Bill Pay" tab, then select either "Quick Pay" or "Bill Pay Site.” Follow the prompts to add payees or make payments. Please note that you must use the full Bill Pay site to make recurring payments ("auto-pay").

These are alerts you can set up that monitor your user ID, password and login to your account. Security alerts can be helpful in detecting fraudulent attempts to access your account.

Please note: Apple Bank automatically enables some security alerts to ensure you stay up to date on important account activity.

After a transaction has posted to your account, the easiest way to dispute a debit card transaction is through Online Banking. If you don't have Online Banking access, you can easily enroll now. You can also give us a call at 800-216-6985 and we will assist you.

Normally, transactions will post before the pending transaction hold expires, typically within 3 days. In some cases, the merchant may not process the transaction before the hold is released. If this happens, the transaction no longer shows as pending in your available balance and you may think you have more money in your account than you do. It’s important to note that, where you have authorized a purchase, that transaction will likely post to your account at a later date.

In some cases, duplicate or inaccurate charges may appear on your account as pending if the merchant has made a mistake. These pending transactions are usually canceled or corrected by the merchant and will not post to your account. If you need to dispute a transaction, the easiest way to dispute a debit card transaction is through Online Banking. If you don't have Online Banking access, you can easily enroll now. When you log into Online Banking, your account shows any deposit, withdrawal, or transfer as pending until the transaction processes, typically the next business day.

Your account also shows any pending debit card transactions. A pending debit card transaction is an authorization of a purchase requested by the merchant to make sure your account is active and that funds are available for your purchase. Pending charges are not final until the transaction posts to your account. In some cases, the amount of the authorization may be different than the amount of your purchase. A few examples are:

• Restaurants: when you add a tip to your bill.
• Gas Stations: when you pay at the pump, the station typically holds funds beyond the price of the gas you purchase to ensure that they are paid in full. The excess amount is later released once the station receives payment for the gas purchased.
• Travel: a hotel or car rental agency authorizing an estimated amount for incidentals.

Telephone funds transfer allows you to transfer funds between eligible Apple Bank accounts. You must sign a Telephone Funds Transfer Agreement at your local branch to register for this service. You will then receive a funds transfer access code.

If your debit card is lost or stolen, you can stop your card in the Apple Bank Debit Card App – available in the Apple App Store^® and Google Play^™ Store.

Your available balance may differ from the current balance because you may have pending transaction(s) on your account that have not yet posted. The available balance includes these pending transactions. The current balance, however, only includes posted transactions, and it does not take these pending transactions into account.

Account alerts allow you to monitor your banking activity. Choose what alerts you get, what Apple Bank accounts you get them for and how you get them (voice message, email, text, push notification or Secure Message in Online Banking).

Yes. Our Online Banking customers are required to use a browser with one of the highest forms of encryption available for today's popular browsers. This means that information passing from your computer to our server is scrambled, making it virtually impossible for anyone to access your account information. Our system uses Multifactor Authentication, which protects against phishing, pharming and dictionary attacks, as well as keystroke-logging viruses. This system protects against online fraud by providing an additional end user authentication factor beyond the customer number and Password logons. Multifactor Authentication works by recognizing the computer terminal that you used to sign up for Online Banking. If you use another computer to log on to Online Banking, our system will recognize this and ask you to answer a series of security questions that you selected when you enrolled in Apple Bank Online Banking.

Account alerts can help you manage your budget, stay on top of your goals and monitor any fraud attempts. Alerts can help you quickly become aware of account activity you did not authorize, so you can notify us immediately. The choice is yours. Choose from any of these options to receive your alerts:

• Text message: Go to Delivery Preferences (under “Alerts”) to enter the mobile number where you’d like to receive alerts.
• Email: Go to Delivery Preferences (under “Alerts”) to enter the email where you’d like to receive alerts.
• Push notification: A message that pops up on your mobile device. To enable push notifications, tap “Alerts & Preferences,” then “Push Notifications.”
• Secure Message (in online banking): Go to “Messages” to find your latest alerts.

In some cases, customers may not recognize or remember a legitimate charge. Here are some steps you can take to validate a transaction in question:

• Check your receipts
• Look up the merchant name online to see if is associated with a recent purchase
• Call the number listed on the transaction to inquire what the transaction was for
• Check with other people authorized to use your account to make sure they didn't authorize the charge

If you are already an Apple Bank customer and your permanent address is in Connecticut, Pennsylvania or Florida, you are also able to apply online for the Simple Savings Account.

You don’t need to open a checking account to accompany your Simple Savings account.

An Apple Bank Simple Savings account may be the only account you’ll need, since you have unlimited withdrawals and debit card transactions on your account and can deposit or transfer funds into your account to build your savings.

New York State does not specify the minimum or maximum for a security deposit, but the security deposit cannot exceed one month’s rent.

Under New York law, a landlord must return the tenant's security deposit within 14 days after the tenant has surrendered the rental property to the landlord. This law does not apply to rent regulated tenants.

Collecting a tenant security deposit is not required by law, but it helps protect against non-payment of rent or damages caused by the tenant.

Under New York State law, a landlord must disclose, in writing, the name and address of the bank where the security deposit is held, and the deposit amount.
