- If you need to pay a bill or withdraw cash that exceeds your available checking account balance, your line of credit can cover it. Only the amount needed to cover the transaction(s) is transferred from the line of credit.
- Funds are automatically transferred from your available line of credit to your checking account, so the transaction is processed and approved.
- Covers you when your funds are not yet available for spending.
- Only pay interest on the money you borrow to cover the shortfall.
- With the SureLine® you can pay the balance off all at once or over time.

Overdraft Protection FAQs
Answers to frequently asked questions.
Apple Bank offers SureLine®, a competitive fixed rate overdraft line of credit (“LOC”) linked to your Apple Bank checking account.
If a transaction exceeds the available balance in your checking account, funds are automatically transferred from your SureLine LOC—up to your pre-approved limit and as long as funds are available in the LOC. This ensures transactions are processed smoothly that may otherwise be returned or cause an overdraft. If the amount of a transaction exceeds your pre-approved LOC limit, no transfer will be made.
Interest is charged on the funds transferred from the line of credit, and there is no annual fee. Deposits made to your checking account are credited nightly to repay the outstanding balance, thereby reducing both your debt and the interest you accrue (check deposits are subject to the Bank’s verification and funds availability schedule3.)
Checks, bill payments, and electronic payments are covered up to authorized limits.
Yes, you may. If a check, bill payment or ACH debit is paid against insufficient or uncollected funds, the Bank may impose an overdraft fee. In the event your checking account and overdraft line of credit don't have enough funds, the Bank may decline any ATM withdrawals or Point of Sale (POS) debit card transactions that would overdraw your account.
