Have the following information on hand when you begin the application:

  • Your personal information, including Social Security number, email address, mobile number and other personal information that will help us to identify you 
  • Driver's license, passport or other government-issued ID.

Your information is safe with us. Apple Bank uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. This means that when you’re on our website, the data transferred between Apple Bank and you is secure.

You will need to fund your account as part of the application process.

As part of your application, you’ll choose how you would like to make your first deposit. 

You can transfer funds from another bank or, if you are already a customer, move money from one of your existing Apple Bank accounts.

After your account is opened, you’ll be able to add funds to your account at any time in any one of the following ways:

  • Online Transfer: Log in to your account online at applebank.com or on the Apple Bank Mobile App4. You can transfer money from another bank account in your name or from your Apple Bank account. To add a new account from another institution, go to Transfer and select Add External Account.
  • Mobile check deposit5: If you haven’t already, download the Apple Bank Mobile App4 on your phone and enroll in mobile check deposit. Then, you can deposit your checks by simply taking a picture. Make sure each check is properly endorsed with your signature and account number. Remember to write “For Mobile Deposit Only” on the back.
  • Direct deposit: Fill out the form provided by your employer.
  • Apple Bank branch or ATM: Visit your nearest location to make a deposit. Certain types of checks and money orders are not accepted at Apple Bank ATMs. 
  • Mail your check: Make sure each check is properly endorsed with your signature and account number. Do not mail cash. Be sure to seal the envelope and mail it to us at:

No. The My Simple Checking account is available to new customers who reside in New York, New Jersey or Florida.

If you are already an Apple Bank customer, and your permanent address is outside of New York, New Jersey or Florida, you are also able to apply online for the My Reserve Savings account. Customers with a current foreign (outside of the U.S.) address will not be eligible to open additional accounts via the online channel.

No, the Simple Checking account has no monthly maintenance fees.

No, the debit card does not have any fees!

  • ATM: There are no fees when using non-Apple Bank ATMs. Plus, Apple Bank will reimburse all surcharges imposed by the ATM owner/operator during each statement cycle period.
  • Point-of-Sale Transactions (POS): There are no fees for domestic and international POS transactions.

No, the Simple Checking account does not currently offer overdraft protection during account opening. Once your account is open, you can visit one of our branches, give us a call at 800-588-5871 (TDD: 800-824-0710), or email us at [email protected] to inquire about overdraft protection on the account.

As part of your application, you’ll be able to add a joint owner. If you need to add a joint owner after the account has been opened, contact us call at 800-588-5871 (TDD: 800-824-0710), and select option 3 and then option 9 to speak to a specialist.

It’s simple! You will be automatically enrolled in the Simple Banking Program once you have established a Simple Checking account in addition to a Simple Savings account. Complete five qualifying credit and/or debit transactions (minimum $25 per transaction) per month, and you will be and you will be eligible to receive an interest rate that is one-half of one percent (0.50%) higher than the then current interest rate in effect for the Simple Savings account(s). 

Qualifying Transactions: A qualifying transaction for purposes of receiving the preferred rate of this Program means a credit or debit of $25 or more in your Simple Checking account from: an electronic (ACH) transaction such as direct deposit, bill payments, or automatic payments set up with a merchant; a transfer to or from an account at another financial institution; Person-to-Person payments (P2P), such as Zelle; or a purchase using your Visa Debit Card. Credit or Debit transactions by any other means (e.g., deposits or withdrawals at an ATM and/or in-person at a branch or transfers between your accounts at Apple Bank) do not qualify as a transaction for purposes of meeting the eligibility criteria for the preferred rate.

No worries. If you don’t qualify for the preferred interest rate, you’ll still receive the current interest rate on the Simple Savings account in effect on the day after the evaluation date. And, just because you didn’t qualify for the preferred interest rate that month, simply conduct five (5) qualified transactions during the next evaluating period. Your account is evaluated every month. Log in to your account and click on account details to see the rate you’re earning.

You can send money to friends and family you trust with daily transaction limit of $2,000 and a monthly limit of $10,000. You can deposit check(s) up to $10,000 a day through the mobile deposit service with a maximum of $25,000 a month. If you would like to request a higher limit, please contact us at 914-902-2775 and we can evaluate if you meet the criteria for a higher limit.

You can schedule a transfer to your account at another bank for up to $10,000 a day with a maximum of $10,000 a month. If you would like to request a higher limit, please contact us at 914-902-2775 and we can evaluate if you meet the criteria for a higher limit.

There are no fees when using non-Apple Bank ATMs, and Apple Bank will reimburse all surcharges imposed by the ATM owner/operator during each monthly statement cycle. There are no fees for domestic and international Point-of-Sale Transactions when using an Apple Bank Visa® Debit Card.

Annual Percentage Yield (APYs) disclosed are effective as of June 1, 2026 for the Simple Checking account and may be changed by the Bank at any time, including after account opening. Interest is earned on daily balances of $1.00 or more at 1.00% interest rate and 1.01% APY. A $100.00 minimum deposit is required to open an account. You must maintain a minimum daily balance of $1.00 in your account each day to earn the stated APY. There is no minimum daily balance requirement to maintain the account and no monthly maintenance fee regardless of account balance.

Annual Percentage Yield (APYs) disclosed are effective as of June 1, 2026 for the Simple Savings account and may be changed by the Bank at any time, including after account opening. Interest is earned on daily balances of $1.00 or more at the following tiers: $1.00 - $49,999.99: 2.98% interest rate and 3.03% APY; $50,000.00 - $249,999.99: 2.98% interest rate and 3.03% APY; $250,000.00 - $999,999.99: 2.98% interest rate and 3.03% APY; $1,000,000.00 or more: 2.98% interest rate and 3.03% APY. Rates do not reflect the Simple Banking Program preferred interest rates and APYs. A $100.00 minimum deposit is required to open the account. You must maintain a minimum daily balance of $1.00 in your account each day to earn the stated APY. There is no minimum daily balance requirement to maintain the account or monthly maintenance fee. Not available for retirement accounts.

You will be automatically enrolled in the Simple Banking Program once you have established a Simple Checking account (anchor account) in addition to your existing Simple Savings account (benefit account). Customers meeting the monthly transaction requirements will be eligible to receive a rate that is one-half of one percent (0.50%) higher (preferred interest rate) than the then current interest rate in effect for the Simple Savings Account(s) Monthly requirements. The Primary owner of the Simple Checking account must be with a Primary or Secondary owner of the Simple Savings Account (benefit account) and complete five (5) qualifying credit and/or debit transactions (minimum $25.00 per transaction) per month for the account to be eligible to receive the preferred interest rate. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in any monthly evaluation period, the preferred interest rate will be reduced to the then current Simple Savings interest rate in effect on the day after evaluation date. The Simple Banking Program allows for one (1) Simple Checking account which may be linked to multiple Simple Savings accounts for the purpose of receiving the preferred interest rate when the required activity in your Simple Checking account is met.

Benefits Evaluation Period: The benefits evaluation period (“evaluation period”) is determined by the statement cycle date (currently month end) of your Simple Checking account. The Bank will evaluate the transactions conducted on your Simple Checking account to determine if you will receive the benefit during the evaluation period. The evaluation period begins three (3) business days before your statement cycle date (the date on which your account statement is produced) and ends three (3) business days prior to the following statement cycle date.
